About Ron Ameln

Ron Ameln is a nationally-recognized entrepreneur, author, publisher and business coach. For the past 25 years, Ron has been helping inspire, educate and inform small business owners throughout the country. He's shared the tips and strategies passed on to him from some of the area's top performing entrepreneurs and business owners.

Tired of attending business seminars and workshops where actually implementing the content into your business was difficult at best, Ron decided to create keynotes, seminars and programs that would not only inform business owners but actually impact and change the critical numbers of their companies.

Ron is the owner and president of SBM, publisher of St. Louis Small Business Monthly (a how-to magazine for owners of small- and mid-sized businesses) and the host of the St. Louis Business Expo & Business Growth Workshop (Missouri's largest business-to-business Expo and workshop). He is also a Business Coach. In that capacity, he helps owners realize their visions for their companies. When owners are struggling with growth, looking for help in getting to the next stage, or just looking for outside perspective, they call Ron for help in moving their companies in the right direction.

Ameln began his career as a business journalist. Since 1992, he has written thousands of articles on small-business topics, ranging from "How To Hire Top Talent" to "How To Gain Bank Financing," He has also written profiles on hundreds of successful entrepreneurs throughout the country. These profiles have offered insight into the challenges faced by small businesses and highlighted the successes of area entrepreneurs.

Ron speaks regularly to small business owners, entrepreneurs, business organizations, associations, chambers of commerce and other business groups about succeeding in business and starting a small business. In 2008, he authored the book, "Business Breakthroughs: St. Louis Style," which shares the business secrets of 60 local entrepreneurs.

In 2008, Ron won the U.S. Small Business Administration's national Small Business Journalist award. He was chosen from a group of 50 state winners. In 1998, he won the SBA's Media Advocate of the Year award for the state of Missouri.
